Harsha Bhogle, the famous commentator, appeared recently on a TVC from Atomberg Technologies, a new product. This creative advert skilfully uses the double meaning of ‘fan’, which reflects on the zeal of die-hard cricket fans and cutting-edge features of Atomberg’s fans. With cricket, as an already established theme in Atomberg’s advertising strategy through its associations of the India home matches from 2024 to 2026, the TVC brings a new way of looking at fandom.
The commercial begins with Harsha Bhogle in the commentator box who spots an animated cricket fan in the crowd and calls out, ‘What a Fan!’ The scene immediately changes to characters Atom and Berg who pose a series of whimsical questions about the fan’s qualities, such as its ability to save electricity and the direct control offered via a smartphone. Not only do these questions leave Bhogle bewildered but give the audience a comic deviation from the phenomenon of ‘fanship.’
It reinventes the old concept of fandom through the BLDC technology integration into the storyline of the TVC. It showcases the energy-saving features, remote control operation, and ability to reduce electricity bills of the fan which connects the fan’s passion for cricket with the innovative aspects of Atomberg’s fan range.
The highlighted element in the campaign is that Atomberg is committed to delivering energy-efficient solutions. Utilizing dynamic camera work, the TVC demonstrates the functions of the smart fan, establishing the background for the second chapter of the “What a Fan!” series.
Nikhil Pandey, Atomberg Technologies’ category manager for ceiling fans, expressed his excitement about the launch of the TVC following the company’s partnership with the BCCI. He remarked on the synergy between the celebratory spirit of cricket fans and the joy and efficiency Atomberg’s smart fans aim to bring to consumers. Pandey’s enthusiasm for the campaign reflects the company’s hope that Harsha Bhogle’s involvement will enhance the TVC’s visibility and impact.
